
DISCOVER: Automatic detection of tumular and megalithic monuments using LiDAR technology and Artificial Intelligence
This project aims to test the application of AI algorithms in the detection of megalithic tumuli using LiDAR data. To this end, an automatic detection algorithm based on supervised learning will be designed to identify tumular forms across the Galician territory, and LiDAR point clouds will be efficiently preprocessed for their use in AI.
The final objective is to improve the catalogue of tumular and megalithic monuments in Galicia by verifying, through archaeological field survey, the features detected by the AI (ground truthing).
